On a rainy afternoon in Amsterdam with great emotion for the Argentine representatives, Mateo Freyre added a new conquest for his country by winning the title of World Champion of the Men’s Heavyweight Combat category.
He defeated Dilshod Matchanov from Ubekiztan in an exciting final, with just enough, in a fight of great intensity and very even at times. With great explosive moments that the public present in the stadium celebrated.
“He was a very good opponent, very tough. He beat a world champion before reaching this final and that says it all. It was very complicated and that makes it much more enjoyable.” Mateo Freyre explained at the end of the fight.
“It was a long road, with a lot of effort and sacrifice to get here. I’m so happy to have been able to show everything up there and that in the end the result is good.”
