Argentine Bárbara Gadea retained her title of World Champion in Women’s Adult Sparring of Hyperweight by defeating Troudes Britt of the Netherlands in the final.
As expected, she was in a very tough fight that she even forced to summon the doctor to attend to the bleeding from Britt’s nose, which continued the remainder of the fight with a band-aid.
On a final day of the ITF Worlds Championship of great achievements for Argentina, this medal for that country has a special flavor because it marks the farewell of Bárbara Gadea from the Adult Singles competitions.
“I wanted to say goodbye like this, close the category like this, with this gold medal.” Before saying goodbye to her to concentrate on team sparring, Barbara wanted to thank “everyone who supported me all these years for this madness.”
