This South American final was for Matías Quercia who thus obtained his first gold medal as an Adult in singles. “It’s a strange, happy feeling… it’s not rational…” said the Argentine just consecrated World Champion. In the dedications he highlighted “the whole team… without a team you get nowhere.”

For his part, Alejandro Bueno showed some frustration for not having taken the gold despite finishing earlier, although he stressed that he must continue to improve. “I can’t believe I’m in the Netherlands representing my country. Thanks to my family and everyone who helped, we made a huge effort to get here.”
