Sarah Herzog became World Champion in the Senior Women’s sparring category up to 55 kilograms this afternoon in Amsterdam, during the first day of the ITF World Championship.
“It was a very big effort… I have three boys, I had to lose a lot of weight but it was worth it… here I am” said Sarah exultantly after the competition.
The fight that won the gold medal for the competitor from Germany was very even and close until the end.
The silver medal was in the hands of Jimena Barayon. Although the frustration for the result in the representative of Spain was evident, the gold medal obtained in the morning in 6th Dan Women’s Senior Forms, will make it clear over time that it was a great first day in this 2022 World Cup.
