Master Carlos Bazan, 7th Dan, has a very long career as an international competitor that includes no less than 3 world champion titles. He is also one of the few competitors in the world who has been able to appear in both Koreas, at the 2000 World Junior Championships in North Korea and at the 2010 World Adult Championships in South Korea.

He is a native of the city of Mar del Plata (Argentina) and a disciple of the Argentine teacher Alejandro Yapuncic, 8th Dan, Director of the Superior Academy of Taekwondo. He represented his country from 2000 to 2016, competing in five world championships. “On 3 occasions I was captain of the Argentine team: Korea 2000, Italy 2014 and England 2016.”

For 6 years he has lived in Palma de Mallorca, (Spain) where he runs his academy called Real Academia de Taekwondo, which is attached to the local ITF Federation. But he not only contributes all his long career in his academy, “today I find myself as part of the Spanish coaching staff directing the teams that will represent the team in the next world championship, I will also have the pleasure of coaching three direct students, the which will compete individually both in fight and in form.”

Regarding the preparation with a view to the imminent ITF World Championships 2022, Master Bazan highlights the high commitment of everyone in this process without failing to mention “that we have been doing a physical, technical and mental training process to be able to arrive as prepared as possible. to the World Cup.”

“From my experience as a competitor and taking into account the dedication that the athletes have been putting in, I am convinced that we can achieve very good results in the different categories to be played.”

The countries he sees as great hosts of the World Cup are Argentina, England and the United States “based on the latest competitions” and he also mentions the Netherlands, “obviously we cannot leave out the host, I am convinced that their athletes will have put a lot of effort and dedication to be able to lead their country to the top.”
