From July 25 to August 7, 2025, the Excellence Taekwon-Do Association (INO 313 – ITF Ethiopia) hosted a comprehensive Umpire Training and Refreshment Course exclusively for Addis Ababa City members. Led by Sabum Ermiyas Ashagre, this intensive programme aimed to enhance the technical and practical skills of umpires, ensuring high standards of officiating in ITF competitions.
The training was highly practical in nature, covering the four main areas of umpiring: patterns, sparring, special technique, and power breaking. Participants also received numerous invaluable tips, technical insights, and perspectives, strengthening both their theoretical knowledge and practical execution.
By the end of the course, attendees had not only refined their umpiring skills but also deepened their understanding of the role of fair play and professionalism in Taekwon-Do events. This initiative reflects ITF Ethiopia’s commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and the development of skilled officials to serve at both national and international levels.
