Representing Singapore as the sole athlete at the World Championship in Barcelona 2025 is both an incredible honour and a humbling responsibility for Juki. Participating on this global stage has been a dream come true and a chance to inspire others to chase their own dreams, no matter the size.

“Being the only athlete representing Singapore is an incredible honour.”

The biggest challenge for Juki has been managing the demanding balance of work, personal fitness, and Taekwon-Do training alone. Overcoming these obstacles has built stronger focus and self-motivation.

Juki’s main strategy is to deliver a powerful, composed performance while staying mentally agile. Execution under pressure and projecting confidence are key. To maintain physical condition, the focus is on simple but effective routines: warm-ups, cool-downs, hydration, clean eating, rest, and recovery.

Mental preparation plays a vital role. Juki is continuously working on maintaining calm, clarity, and confidence to handle whatever comes during competition.

“Mental preparation is absolutely important.”

At this elite level, small details like perfect stances, sharp technique, and unwavering confidence make the difference between a solid performance and a winning one. Hesitation can cost dearly.

Juki values every opponent as a learning opportunity, embracing the unique styles and perspectives each competitor brings. Every match is a chance to grow and celebrate the spirit of martial arts.

Describing the championship in one sentence, Juki says it’s “a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a chance to prove my perseverance and passion for the sport.”

“A once-in-a-lifetime experience to prove my passion.”

Beyond competition, Juki is excited to explore Barcelona’s rich culture, enjoy its food and architecture, and connect with athletes worldwide — sharing stories and being part of something greater than a single event. The goal is to leave the championship a better martial artist and person.
