With the 8th annual Korca Open tournament on the horizon, Dorian Potka, founder of The Academy of Martial Arts Korce, Albania, gears up to elevate Taekwon-do  in the region. Dorian Potka and his team are fervently preparing for the upcoming Korca Open tournament in Albania. This marks the 8th consecutive year of organizing the event, and their efforts are dedicated to ensuring the athletes’ readiness and the competency of the umpires. Transparency and fairness are paramount in this competition, which includes categories for athletes as young as 5 years old. The young talents will compete in Patterns and Special Techniques, while those aged 7 and above will showcase their skills in Patterns and Sparring.

A Glimpse of Korca Open 2023

Korca Open is an international championship open to teams from various countries. This year, it has already received confirmations from six countries, setting the stage for fierce competition. Potka’s team has trained rigorously, and their athletes are driven to succeed. They aim for the top spot, even though they acknowledge the challenges presented by formidable opponent teams.

The Evolution of Taekwon-do  in Albania

Dorian Potka is proud of the developments in Taekwon-do  in Albania. The annual Korca Open championship has played a pivotal role in uniting all Taekwon-do  teams across the country. This collaboration not only strengthens the sport but also enhances its connection with Taekwon-do  I.T.F. As 2023 approaches its conclusion, it has been a successful year for Dorian Potka and Taekwon-do  schools in Korca. The schools have witnessed a surge in new athletes, underlining the growing popularity of the sport. The year has seen intensive participation by Potka’s team in national and international competitions, resulting in gratifying achievements. Additionally, the official acceptance of their school into the I.T.F Administration marks a significant milestone, further boosting the Taekwon-do  I.T.F community in Albania.
