The Taekwondo World Games Korea 2023 are just around the corner, and the ireland team is in full preparation to compete in this exciting international event that will take place in South Korea.

The ITF sports team interviewed some members of the team in the run-up to the tournament,

▪️ How was the preparation for World Games Korea 2023?

“Preparation was good. We have been training hard all year and competed in tournaments across ireland.”

▪️ In what categories does he compete and with what expectation does he reach the competition?

“Female adult middleweight”

▪️ What countries do you see as favorites in the championship?

“Favourites are always Argentina, UK and USA.”

▪️ Do you have some kind of special preparation before competition day?

“I mentally prepare myself for the week ahead”

▪️ How does your country reach this International competition?

“with training throughout the year and competing in local/international tournaments.”

▪️ How was the previous planning, with previous competitions, physical/sports preparation?

“Training has been increased with students meeting more often and competing across the country of Ireland.”

▪️ In which sports area is seen with more strengths Break/Fight/patterns) and that individual competitor or country sees as an adversary to respect?

“In Ireland students seem to concentrate more on Fighting with a lot of the squad training focusing on that. Ireland is well known for combat sports especially Taekwon-Do and Boxing. Saying this we do focus on patterns also to keep the traditional aspect of Taekwon-Do Alive.”

“Do your best and show the world how good the competitors from Ireland are.”
