Amsterdam is an easily accessible city from every point of view: the main attractions are in very affordable locations and are often very close to each other.
The public transport system has a great advantage since trains, trams, buses and metros are unified with the same card.

To travel in Amsterdam, the card is called OV-chipkaart and there are different types of passes: Personal (for Dutch residents), Anonymous (for tourists) or Disposable (without card, in paper format, also for tourists).
To use the card, you can buy it at the station, and check-in upon entering and check-out at the end of the trip (only check-in in the case of the disposable paper pass).
The tram is the fastest and easiest method to move around the city. It is only open until midnight, the time at which the buses begin to circulate, until 7 a.m.
The metro only has 4 lines, but it is more than convenient when visiting the outskirts of the city or the main terminals.
