In this final part of the pre-World Cup coverage, we continue to feature representatives from different countries who will be present in Amsterdam. On this occasion we chatted with Kim Herzog, Coach of the German combat team, who confesses that “Taekwon-do is my life.”

Kim Herzog has to his credit several European and World Champion titles in Taekwon-Do and Kickboxing. “I have practiced Taekwon-Do since 1985 and have run various professional martial arts schools since 2001.”

In the talk he provides a very interesting look at the value of Taekwon-do for children, as we mentioned in the title. “More and more parents understand the benefits that Taekwon-Do has on a child’s development. Today it is considered a sport with great added value. I can’t think of a better sport for children. All children in Germany and all over the world should practice Taekwon-Do. Even if it’s just for a year or two.”

In his role as Coach, he explains that for this World Cup “we train every day. Two of our team are full-time Taekwon-Do teachers and have the opportunity to train in the morning and in the evening. We have been preparing since January .”

He also makes a special mention of his wife who will compete in this 2022 World Championship and whom he sees as having great potential. “My wife Sarah Herzog really has the toughest preparation. In addition to her full-time job as a mother of three and me as a husband. And teaching Taekwon-Do for three hours a day, she trained twice a day. Anyone who shows as much discipline is already a winner for me.”

He has good expectations for this World Cup since he assures that “I have very good fighters as in all the ITF Championships. And like the vast majority, he also sees in this 2022 ITF World Championship the great opportunity to “meet old friends again After so much time.”
